A Formula for Time It Takes a Government Body in Australia to Complete a Task

Governments in Australia tend to be reactionary rather than proactive. We’ve seen this a lot in the last couple of years where stakes are high and action needs to be taken. The required action usually gets taken as a reaction to the mess the action should would otherwise avoid.

A formula for when a government in Australia (Federal, State, you name it):

DC = DT + DSF

Where:

  • DC: Date Completed
  • DT: Duration of Task
  • DSF: Date when Shit hits the Fan Usually a critical mass of media criticism or when the otherwise avoidable problem actually becomes a problem.
